Integration and the value chain

Ambar is a partner in the A-T group, together they formed an integration that produces poultry and turkeys in an integrative approach. The uniqueness of the integration is its involvement in all stages of production, from operating parent stock coops, producing the feed, to the marketing of the meat.

All stages:

1. Feed mixture

2. Agriculture – the breeding system, incubation, and broiler farming for meat.

3. Industry – slaughterhouses and a rendering factory (recycling facility).

4. Trading – sales and marketing of chicks and meat to end consumers. The integration proudly employs 2,000 workers from all parts of Israel and from a broad spectrum of the population. Some of the group’s activities include growing GP (grandparents) flocks (unique in Israel) and distributing Broiler and turkey parents stock to customers in Israel.

Our Value Chain includes:

  • A premix plant.
  • Feed Mill.
  • Grandparents flocks that supplies all the Ross and BUT parents stock in Israel.
  • GP Hatcheries.
  • Parents stock that produces broiler eggs.
  • Broiler hatchery that supplies to the broiler farms.
  • Broiler farms.
  • Three leading slaughterhouses.
  • Rendering facility – wastage factory.
  • Ambar is a local franchiser for leading global companies and a significant hold on the broiler and turkey market in Israel.

Hod Hefer

Hod Hefer is a group of factories, specializing in broiler and turkey meat processing. acquired in 2010 by the A-T Group, The factory was established in 1973 as a partnership between Granot and the organization of “Moshavim Factories in the Sharon”.

The group employs 600 workers. Hod Hefer invests great resources in developing and improving its quality, safety, and environmental wastage.

The factory includes two central production units:

1. A broiler and turkey slaughterhouse.

2. Butchery. A few years ago, we established a butchery within the factory to provide a variety of ready-to-eat premium products aimed at the retail and professional markets. To ensure the delivery of a top-level product: food production and safety procedures are strictly supervised, high quality and regulatory standards are obeyed, with emphasis on QC through the manufacturing process, the packaging process, and exit of the products from the factory.

Of ha-Negev (Chicken of the Negev)

Of ha-Negev is one of the leading slaughterhouses in Israel, specializing in manufacturing and marketing broiler products. All products meet Israeli and European strict quality standards and work under the slaughterhouse veterinarian and supervisors’ close veterinary supervision (they are independently responsible for food safety on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture). The factory’s facilities meet all safety, environmental requirements and regulations. A-T group are fully committed to sustainable production, large investments were made in the treatment of wastewater (the site has established a wastewater treatment facility with advanced technology) and the recycling of wastage. Furthermore, the reclaimed water from the factory is transferred and used to irrigate the Negev crops. The company employs 500 workers from all population spectrum of the Negev. The factory regularly participates in socio-environmental activities and cooperates with local councils in joint projects.

Kfar Menachem Slaughterhouse

The Kfar Menachem slaughterhouse is the first slaughterhouse established in Israel, operating since the 1950s, it began as a provider of slaughter solutions for Kibbutz Kfar Menachem. Since then, the slaughterhouse has undergone several revisions and now operates under the A-T group. The “Of Ha’aretz” slaughterhouse specializes in the production of Glatt kosher, natural meat products. The broilers are grown without the use of antibiotics, according to a strict protocol, meeting the growing demand in the market for natural products. “Of Haaretz” produces the “NATURE” brand and supplies “natural poultry” brands of Israeli marketing chains. The factory staff includes a veterinarian and supervisors from the Israeli Veterinary Services. They oversee the production process from procurement of the raw material (including appropriate approvals from the dispatching farms) to approving the final products. As industry leaders, we invest resources to keep up with the most advanced technologies and solutions.

Rendering Facility

The Poultry Wastage Recycling facility is located inside the Negev Poultry Slaughterhouse complex. It operates advanced technology to incorporate the animal carcass which it recycles into oil and meat protein, thus preventing the dumping of hundreds of tons of organic waste per day. Furthermore, it provides a recycled product as an ingredient in animal nutrition.
